It's worked out, not made up. Getting your order to your doorstep takes about three-quarters of a litre of diesel per household each week, so we charge the difference between this month's official GOV.UK diesel price and the £1.44 a litre we planned the year around, nothing more. Right now it's 26p a week. On the 1st of every month, we recalculate it using our published bands.
