Hens are fed a natural vegetarian diet consistent of wheat, wheat feed, soya and maize with essential vitamins and minerals to support and maintain a healthy laying bird. From day old chicks all free-range hens are reared in open heat-controlled barns and at approximately 16-18 weeks old they are then moved into specific free-range houses where the birds can roam outdoors in the daylight hours. The birds are provided with nest boxes to lay their eggs, perching areas and dust baths to encourage natural behaviour.
